DODGE CITY- Construction on the new Comfort Suites located on West Wyatt Earp is coming along on schedule. Comfort Suites is a 64-room property scheduled to open in December. “The property could be completed before then if the weather cooperates,” said Owner Dharmesh Bhakta.
Bhakta believes that the Comfort Suites will stay heavily occupied because each room is a suite. “These rooms will have the comfortable feel of home. This is a higher end experience that should make the guests feel more than welcome,” said Bhakta.
The Suites are also within close proximity to shopping, dining and entertainment. Bhakta has owned and operated the Dodge City Days Inn since 2008. This year he had the opportunity to separate the 80-room hotel into two hotels. The separation resulted in an addition of a 20-room hotel, the Knights Inn. This was an important separation because it provided a different option for their longer-term guests.
In general, The Comfort Inn Suites usually have a uniform look about them. The company decides the themes. This Comfort Suites will be the first hotel in Kansas to implement a new proto type in the hotel. “We are planning on following the “Old West” theme that goes along with Dodge City,” said Bhakta. “We have hired our own designer to give the suites and particularly the lobby a unique western feel.”
Bhakta is estimating that there will be about 15 full-time employees and several part-time positions once the Comfort Suites is up and running. This number could increase depending on occupancy.
