CHAD Celebrates Renovated Home at 137 Cottonwood Avenue
The Community Housing Association of Dodge City (CHAD) is proud to announce the completion of its 15th home renovation project—a beautifully updated 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom residence located at 137 Cottonwood Avenue. This latest project is part of CHAD’s continued commitment to improving housing access and strengthening Dodge City’s older neighborhoods.
The home features all new systems, modern finishes, and a functional layout, offering a move-in ready option for a future family. But the impact of this project goes far beyond its four walls.
“Renovating homes like this one not only creates quality housing but also helps revitalize older existing neighborhoods, breathing new life into aging neighborhoods,” said Mollea Lightner, Assistant Director of the Dodge City/Ford County Development Corporation. “We’ve consistently seen a spillover effect—when one home is improved, nearby residents often follow suit by investing in their own properties.” CHAD also targets the neighborhood with the other housing assistance programs that are available.
This project was made possible through collaboration and support from a wide range of community partners, including the City of Dodge City, local utility providers, and other stakeholders dedicated to improving housing and neighborhood vitality.
“Partnerships are at the heart of every successful CHAD renovation,” said Lightner. “We’re grateful for the ongoing support of our city officials and staff, utility companies, construction professionals, and neighbors who all contribute to making these transformations possible.”
CHAD’s renovation program identifies vacant, aging, or underused properties and restores them to livable condition, helping address the local housing shortage while enhancing community aesthetics and safety.
