Dodge City Hosts Presentation on Data Center Development Trends
Community leaders gathered at the Santa Fe Depot on March 9 to learn more about the growing role of data centers in Kansas and the opportunities they may present for communities across the state. The presentation was led by Paul Hughes with the Kansas Department of Commerce and hosted by the Dodge City/Ford County Development Corporation.
During the workshop, Hughes provided an overview of the different types of data centers and the infrastructure needs required to support them, including power availability, connectivity, land requirements, and workforce considerations. The session also explored the potential benefits and challenges communities should evaluate when considering data center development.
As technology continues to advance and digital infrastructure becomes increasingly important, data centers have emerged as a significant area of interest for economic development. Hughes discussed how Kansas communities are positioning themselves to compete for these projects and what local leaders should consider when evaluating potential opportunities.
Local officials, economic development professionals, and community stakeholders attended the presentation to better understand the evolving landscape of digital infrastructure and how communities can prepare for future investment.
The Dodge City/Ford County Development Corporation regularly hosts educational workshops and presentations to help local leaders stay informed about emerging industries and economic development opportunities.
