Roto-Mix: A Homegrown Manufacturer with Global Reach and Local Commitment
For over four decades, Roto-Mix has proudly called Dodge City home — and from its headquarters on Wyatt Earp Boulevard, the company has built a reputation that spans across continents. Founded 41 years ago, Roto-Mix manufactures high-quality livestock feeding equipment and compost mixers that are sold across the United States and exported to countries such as Australia, Mexico, Canada, and Japan.
At the heart of Roto-Mix’s success is a dedication to product quality and customer loyalty. With 80–90% of their business coming from repeat customers — many of whom have partnered with the company for more than 30 years — Roto-Mix has earned its place as a trusted leader in agricultural equipment manufacturing. Their feed mixers, the company’s most profitable and dependable product, are known for delivering consistent results that producers rely on.
Today, the Dodge City facility employs 62 of the company’s 112 full-time staff, with operations ranging from fabrication and painting to assembly and parts service. While workforce recruitment and retention remain ongoing challenges, Roto-Mix maintains strong partnerships with local technical schools and continues to invest in the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
Looking ahead, Roto-Mix is actively exploring opportunities to expand its footprint in Dodge City, including the possible relocation of its Sunnyside, Washington operations to western Kansas. The company is currently seeking additional land and facility space to support future growth.
Despite ongoing challenges such as parts shortages, tariff impacts, and high freight costs, Roto-Mix sees continued opportunity in the region’s growing feed yard, dairy, manure spreading and composting industries. To stay competitive, the company is advancing automation efforts and exploring new markets, including international municipal compost applications.
Roto-Mix’s story is one of resilience, innovation, and local pride. As they continue to grow, they remain a vital part of Dodge City’s manufacturing landscape and a strong advocate for workforce development, infrastructure improvements, and agricultural expansion in western Kansas.
