Dodge City Celebrates Major Housing Milestone with United Village Ribbon Cutting

DODGE CITY, KS – On April 24, city and state leaders, development partners, and community members gathered to celebrate the official ribbon cutting of United Village, a transformative new housing development in Dodge City. The project, which will ultimately include 227 new homes, is already reshaping the future of housing in southwest Kansas, with 92 homes completed.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate the United Village Ribbon Cutting—especially our excellent speakers, including Mayor Reinert, State Representative Jason Goetz, Ric Marboeuf, M.R. Builder, Jessica Hotelling, Kansas Housing Resources Corporation, and Hugh Carter, Kansas Department of Commerce, who helped make the day so memorable.

Each of you brought powerful messages about the importance of collaboration, investment, and vision in building strong rural communities. Your support continues to move Dodge City forward.

United Village was featured on KSN News, highlighting the strong local and state partnerships that made the development possible. The project was brought to life through collaboration between the City of Dodge City, Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC), Kansas Department of Commerce, and private developer M.R. Builder—alongside a $10 million public investment in infrastructure from the city.

“United Village isn’t just about housing—it’s about workforce, economic growth, and creating a community where people want to live and stay. We’re proud of the collaboration it took to make this happen and excited about what it means for Dodge City’s future,” said Mollea Lightner, Assistant Director of the Dodge City/Ford County Development Corporation.

The development features a mix of home types—single-family residences, townhomes, barndominiums, and tiny homes—designed to meet the needs of working families, essential workers, and future residents looking to relocate to a community that’s growing and investing in its future.
