Childcare Coalition Hosts Tax Seminar for Providers

Childcare Coalition Hosts Tax Seminar for Providers

The Childcare Coalition of Dodge City (CCDC) hosted an informative Tax Seminar for Childcare Providers on Tuesday, November 11, at the University/Training Center in Dodge City. The session featured Kaden Stein with Kennedy McKee & Company, who shared practical advice on best practices, recordkeeping, deductions, and retirement planning for in-home childcare businesses.

The event was organized in direct response to feedback from local childcare providers during CCDC’s Childcare Appreciation Event, where participants expressed a need for more guidance on managing the financial side of their operations.

“Supporting our childcare providers means more than just helping them open or expand their centers, it’s about ensuring they have the tools to sustain long-term success,” said Mollea Lightner, Assistant Director of Economic Development. “By offering sessions like this, we’re helping providers strengthen their business practices, improve sustainability, and feel confident in the work they do every day.”

Childcare providers play a vital role in supporting the local workforce and economy, allowing parents to pursue careers, businesses to operate effectively, and young children to learn and thrive in safe, nurturing environments.

CCDC extends a sincere thank you to Kaden Stein and Kennedy McKee & Company for donating their time and expertise to support our local childcare providers.

Attendees also enjoyed dinner and networking with fellow providers while gaining valuable insights to simplify their finances and better plan for the year ahead.
