Dodge City Hosts Final Stop of Kansas EXIM Roadshow

We were pleased to welcome business leaders and economic development partners to Dodge City on August 27 as the Dodge City/Ford County Development Corporation hosted the final stop of the Kansas EXIM Roadshow at the Santa Fe Depot.

The four-city roadshow, a partnership between the Kansas Department of Commerce and the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), made stops in Overland Park, Wichita and Salina before concluding in Dodge City. We appreciated the opportunity to bring this event, and the state and federal experts participating in it, directly to businesses in Southwest Kansas.

Throughout the event, attendees learned about resources available to help businesses grow, explore new markets, and consider opportunities in international trade. Topics included trade financing, international payment solutions, reducing the financial risks associated with exporting, and state and federal programs that can support business expansion.

Representatives from EXIM, the U.S. Commercial Service, U.S. Small Business Administration, Kansas Department of Commerce and Kansas Manufacturing Solutions shared their expertise and, more importantly, gave local businesses the opportunity to make connections with people who can assist them as they grow.

One of our goals at the Development Corporation is to make sure businesses in Dodge City and Ford County have access to the same resources and opportunities available in larger communities. Hosting events like the EXIM Roadshow allows us to bring those resources directly to Southwest Kansas and introduce our businesses to experts they can continue working with long after the event is over.

Businesses don’t have to already be exporting to benefit from these connections. Whether a company is considering entering a new market, looking for financing options, preparing to expand or simply wants to learn what resources are available, there are partners at the state and federal levels ready to help.

We were proud to serve as the final stop of the Kansas EXIM Roadshow and appreciate the Kansas Department of Commerce, EXIM and all of the participating organizations for making the trip to Dodge City. We also thank the local and regional businesses that joined us and took advantage of the opportunity to learn, ask questions and build new connections.
