Community Invited to Celebrate New Housing at 15th Avenue Development Open House

The Dodge City/Ford County Development Corporation invites the public to celebrate another milestone in expanding housing opportunities during the 15th Avenue Development Open House on Tuesday, August 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Guests are invited to tour the completed homes, meet the partners who made the project possible, and enjoy a free hamburger feed for the first 200 attendees.

Developed by OMA Construction, the 15th Avenue Development will bring 22 new single-family homes and one duplex, creating 24 new housing units designed to provide high-quality, attractive homes at an affordable price, ranging from $220,500 to $242,500. The development demonstrates that quality craftsmanship and affordability can go hand in hand, giving more families the opportunity to achieve homeownership while remaining in the community.

Beyond providing new homes, the project represents a significant investment in an area of Dodge City that has seen limited residential development in recent years. By transforming underutilized property into a vibrant new neighborhood, the development is encouraging reinvestment, strengthening surrounding property values, and creating momentum for continued growth. The project not only expands housing opportunities but also enhances the quality of life for residents and contributes to the long-term vitality of the community.

“Quality housing plays a vital role in a thriving community,” said Mollea Lightner, Assistant Director of the Dodge City/Ford County Development Corporation. “Developments like the 15th Avenue project create opportunities for families to achieve homeownership while supporting the continued growth of our local economy. We’re excited to celebrate this investment and recognize the partnerships that made it possible. Together, we’re creating new opportunities for families while strengthening the future of Dodge City.”

“At OMA Construction, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to own a quality home,” said Omar Lopez, OMA Construction. “This development is about more than building houses, it’s about building a neighborhood where families can put down roots and create lasting memories. We’re proud to partner with organizations that share our commitment to making homeownership more attainable for the people of Dodge City.”

The development is a testament to the power of collaboration. The project was made possible through the partnership of OMA Construction, the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC), the City of Dodge City, Grant County Bank, and the Dodge City/Ford County Development Corporation. Together, these organizations are investing in quality housing, expanding homeownership opportunities, and creating a stronger future for Dodge City.

Every new home built strengthens the community by providing housing options for current and future residents, supporting local employers, and encouraging continued private investment. The 15th Avenue Development demonstrates how strategic partnerships can create lasting community impact while revitalizing neighborhoods and improving the quality of life for generations to come.

The community is encouraged to attend the Open House, tour the homes, learn more about the development, and celebrate this exciting addition to Dodge City’s housing inventory.
